Red and Blue Stars Swap Win 2022 Flint Hills Optimist Club All-Star Classic Saturday Night

The Blue and Red All-Stars both won the 2022 Flint Hills Optimist All-Star Classic on Saturday night.

The Blue All-Stars, coached by Michelle Stueve-Corpening, beat the Red All-Stars 80-66 in the girls game. Emporia High School’s Gracie Gilpin received the Bryan Douglas Most Valuable Player Award as she led all scorers with 32 points.

Stueve-Corpening says getting the win is great, but more than anything she wanted her daughters to enjoy the moment.

On the boys side, the Red All-Stars edged the blue team 94-82. Madison’s Drew Stutseman was named the boy’s MVP leading his team with 20 points.

Red All-Star coach Dylan Farr, a former All-Star himself, says he was proud to be part of the event again.

Burlingame’s Daelyn Winters and Council Grove’s Kellen Marshall were crowned All-Star Game Three-Point Shooting Champions.
