What makes the city, the region special

It’s a great time to learn (or remember) what makes the area special, especially with so many MSU students, faculty, and others returning to the area. So we decided to put together this guide full of things to see, do, know and experience – think of it as a scavenger hunt, a fun checklist or a tourist guide to really experience Greater Lansing.

As we continue to navigate the changes brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve become even more excited to get out there and see what’s out there in and around this great little city. Whether you’re new to town and just getting to know each other, or you’ve lived here a while and are coming back, we’d like to say, “Welcome to Lansing.”


If you haven’t been in or around downtown Lansing lately, you may not have noticed all of the new and updated businesses – each actively contributing to an increased level of business and activity. ‘hustle. A new grocery store downtown, an incubator for aspiring small business owners, great new art exhibits and better parking options. Keep reading to learn more.
